Bio

Charlie Davis is a PhD candidate in Community Psychology at Wilfrid Laurier University. He is a community-based researcher with a strong commitment to conducting action-orientated research that will promote the health and wellbeing of transgender communities. His dissertation research examines historical Canadian legislation that has impacted trans rights, with an emphasis on examining how policies have impacted the lives, bodily integrity and bodily autonomy of trans people. Some of his other research interests include examining the impacts that colonial institutions (e.g., universities, healthcare, governmental policies, etc.) have on minoritized communities, as well as the interplay between activism and social change.
