Bio

Hannah is a Sociology PhD student who grew up in rural Nova Scotia on her parent’s dairy farm. Her previous academic work has been concerned with how rural schools can support 2S/LGBTQ+ youth, the role of news media in anti-2S/LGBTQ+ policy (i.e., Policy 713), young people's experiences of grief, and how older Two-Spirit, Lesbian, and Bisexual women can be better supported in later-life housing. Their PhD research will explore the experiences of 2S/LGBTQ+ people with dementia, their carers, and how identity is negotiated through dementia care. She has been involved in a variety of research projects and teams, including, but not limited to, Grief Matters, Imagining Futures, and the Oral Health and Swallowing Research Lab.
