Bio
John Segui (he/him) is a Ph.D. candidate in the School of Public Health at the University of Toronto and in Sexual Diversity Studies. His research interest primarily focuses on the intersections of sexuality, race, health, qualitative research, and digital technologies. His doctoral dissertation explores how sexual racism shapes the well-being of young Asian men who have sex with men on dating apps and how YAMSM practice strategies of resistance and re-imagine a safer and more inclusive digital space for racialized and queer populations. In addition, John is also a registered social worker and has been a practicing psychotherapist for over 5 years with the 2SLGBTQ+ community.
