Bio

Ani Mallory nindizhinikaaz. Gohn Gazhed Mtigwakii Ihkwew nindigoo ojibwemong. Mushkoode bishike nindiodem.  My name is Mallory Solomon and my Spirit name is Snow-Covered Forest. My clan is the Buffalo. I come from Constance Lake First Nation which is located on Treaty 9 territory. My Tribal Nation is Matawa First Nations and my Political Territorial organization is Nishnawbe Aski Nation. I am an Anisininew (Oji-cree) person who identifies both as Two-Spirit and Indigiqueer.

I have diploma in Early Childhood Education from Anishinabek Educational Institute (AEI). Following my graduation, I became increasingly aware of the significant mental health and behavioural needs affecting children in my community. Motivated to better support these needs, I pursued further education in psychology and earned a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Psychology from Algoma University.

I completed the course requirements for the Masters of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology at Lakehead University however I have not received the degree due to incomplete components such as thesis and practicum. I will be transitioning into the mental health and addiction worker program at AEI, in the future I would like to pursue a Masters of Psychotherapy degree from Algoma University and register as a psychotherapist. My career goal is to establish a residential healing centre for First Nation youth at risk of suicide in Northern Ontario, while also engaging in community-driven research that explores meaningful and culturally grounded solutions to the challenges facing First Nation communities.

I have extensive experience in First Nations leadership spaces, with a strong commitment to advancing 2SLGBTQIA+ rights, health, education, and social services. I served for four years with the Oshkaatisak Council at Nishnawbe Aski Nation and spent three years in a leadership role with the 2-Spirit in Motion Youth Council. I am currently a member of the Love Builds the Bundle Youth Council with the Ontario Native Women’s Association and Matawa First Nations Youth Council. I currently also hold a position with the Keepers of the Circle: 2S/LGBTQQIAPD+ Council at Chiefs of Ontario. In addition, I serve as the Ontario representative on the 2LGBTQ2S+ Council at the Assembly of First Nations (AFN).

In May 2026, I established an independent consulting business focused on providing consulting, mentorship, and coaching services. Through Two-Spirit Relations Consulting on Facebook and Instagram (@twospirit_relations_consulting), I support individuals, organizations, and communities through relationship-based, culturally grounded guidance and advocacy.
