Maxi Gaudette is a genderqueer Ph D candidate in public health (health promotion) at the Université de Montréal exploring issues at the intersection of LGBTQIA+ health and drug use through participatory and art-based approaches. Their doctoral thesis on sexual consent in chemsex/PnP contexts mobilizes photovoice, a method combining conversation and photography, to promote the sexual health and well-being of communities involved. Working alongside community-based organizations and activist groups for over 15 years, Maxi’s work and commitments are deeply rooted in critical thinking, self-awareness, empowerment, self-determination and social justice.
