Kwe Hey, My name is Mykel Denny, I was honoured with the name Walqwanekl Amalkatijik Alook, (Dancing clouds of the rainbow). I am a Non Binary Two Spirit Mikmaq from the Wabanaki Territory of Turtle Island. I work primarily as a Registered Massage Therapist running my own practice in Sydney Nova Scotia. I am heavily involved with the Wabanaki Two Spirit Alliance as a Gender and Wellness Navigator, where I am a Two Spirit/Trans Policy coordinator. I am so proud to be part of an organization which prioritizes 2S, Trans and Indigiqueer individuals. I have recently completed a consultation role with the Centre for Water Resource Studies with Dalhousie University in building a graduate level course focused on Wabanaki Worldview for Water Stewardship. I am currently involved with research on 2SBIPOC Employment Equality in collaboration with Halifax Pride Society, and I am the Chairperson of the Wabanaki Two Spirit Trans Advisory Committee with the W2SA.
