Bio
I am a community-focused researcher and advocate passionate about addressing food insecurity and food sovereignty, particularly within marginalized communities. I have a packed resume of experience in almost every sector: government, research, journalism, consulting, agriculture, art, start-ups, academics, and over a decade working in the charitable sector. My work and research explore how food systems impact health outcomes, with a specific focus on the intersections of food security, racism, and food sovereignty work. As Director of Programs at FoodShare and a Masters candidate in Community Development at the University of Victoria, my research explores community-led interventions to combat food insecurity, promote food sovereignty, and improve health outcomes for urban communities. I am committed to advancing equitable, sustainable solutions that foster community resilience and address systemic barriers to food access.
