Biographie

Apt’sqi’gnn is of Wabanaki and settler ancestry from Ktaqmkuk (the Island of Newfoundland). His paternal ancestry is settler Canadian, originally from the United Kingdom. They are currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Social and Behavioural Sciences at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health (DLSPH) at the University of Toronto. They hold a Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto, a Bachelor of Social Work and a Bachelor of Arts from McMaster University. Apt’sqi’gnn is the recipient of the Canadian Graduate Scholarship - Doctoral - CGS-D (2026-2029). Their proposed doctoral research investigates the impacts of the climate crisis on 2-Spirited Peoples.
