Emmett Rabot

Biographie

Emmett is a doctoral student in Applied Human Sciences and a psychiatrist specializing in working with autistic and neurodivergent youth. His doctoral research explores the experiences of gender-diverse autistic youth accessing psychiatric care in Quebec through a participatory qualitative approach. He examines the processes of depsychiatrization of gender diversity and neurodivergence. His project is conducted within the Canada Research Chair in Partnership Research and the Empowerment of Vulnerable Youth, and is funded by an SSHRC Doctoral Research Scholarship. Through this research, Emmett hopes to contribute to the development of more inclusive and affirming mental health care.
