Biographie
I am a Black public health professional and PhD student in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Simon Fraser University. My research is nested within the British Columbia CARMA-CHIWOS Collaboration (BCC3), a cell-to-society, community-based research cohort of women and gender-diverse people living with and without HIV. My work explores how intersectional discrimination and stigma become biologically embodied. Grounded in critical race, intersectional feminist, and queer theories, I investigate whether resilience mediates minority stress-related accelerated aging pathways. More broadly, I am interested in community-centred research, where self-determination and meaningful community partnerships foster research that is accountable, culturally grounded, and responsive to community priorities.
